We have had some very exciting things happening since the last time I posted in July.
In September we debuted Lundy in conformation at the Northern Lights American Eskimo Dog Associations weekend of UKC shows in Minneapolis. Here are his results:
Show 1: Best Male under Judge Patrick O'Donnell
Show 2: Best Male and Best of Winners under Judge Eleanor Main
Show 3: Best Male and Best of Winners under Judge David Arthur
Show 4: Best Male and Best of Winners under Judge Sharon Griffin
This finished Lundy's UKC Championship in his very first weekend of showing! We are so proud of him and cannot wait to see what his future in the show ring holds. All of the judges had very nice compliments for him.
We are very excited to introduce our newest litter, out of Royce x Millie!! The pups are almost a week old now, born on October 3. Please visit our Puppies page on our website or our Facebook page to see pictures and updates!
I made this blog to track our news and events at White Whillow German Shepherd Dogs - I will try to update as often as I can!

Lake Elmo UKC Shows
The UGSDA hosts their July shows every year in Lake Elmo, MN at the Washington County Fairgrounds. In conjunction with our shows, the Minnesota Mixed Breed Club hosts UKC rally, obedience, and weight pull. This year we entered Millie and Halle in conformation and I decided to enter Halle in rally also.
The drive there on Saturday morning was a bit slow - we were driving about 35 mph in a 55 mph area because it was raining so hard we could barely see. With that much rain, the fairgrounds were soaked so we had to fight mud and wet shoes. The shows were delayed a bit after the rain stopped, and it did dry up eventually.
Both girls showed very well on Saturday despite the heat which is all I can ask for! Millie took a Reserve Best Female in show 2 under judge John Davidson. Nothing for Halle in conformation.
Halle's rally debut could not have gone better! She blew me away with how well she worked for me in the heat and with so many distractions. Our rally scores for Saturday were 97 (third place) and 96 (second place).
Sunday's heat was worse, and we spend most of our time in the shade drinking water and relaxing. Because of the heat, the rally judge decided not to go in order - whoever was ready could go. I wanted to do our run as early as I could. It ended up being our best score of the weekend with a 98 (second place)! This also finished Halle's URO1 title, which I am completely overjoyed with earning in our first three rally trials. Because she finished her title, we didn't need another level 1 leg, so I scratched her last run due to the heat.
Both girls showed very well in conformation once again. Millie took another Reserve Best Female in Sunday's first show under judge Jill Sobel-Smith. Halle won a very nice Grand Champion class of five dogs - this qualified her for a TOTAL DOG Award! To earn a Total Dog Award, you must get a win in conformation and earn a qualifying score in a performance event on the same day - and Halle did it with two "firsts" ! Her first time competing in a rally trial (earning her first rally title) and her first time winning the Grand Champion class. By this point, I was very satisfied with our weekend. But Millie wasn't...
In Sunday's show 2, under judge Pamela Simmons, Millie won Best Female and went on to win Best of Winners to finish her UKC Championship!! Now I was on Cloud 9... we managed to complete every goal I had had for the weekend - a new UKC Champion, a rally title, and a Total Dog Award. I am still blown away by our weekend and could not be prouder of our girls. I also cannot thank my Mom enough for making all of this possible. Without her love and support, I could never be so active or successful with our dogs. We are a great team, and I love doing this together.

As I promised Millie, now that she has finished her UKC Championship we plan to move onto something that she will find more fun and exciting. We plan to start agility training in the near future and will hopefully trial at some point!

We traveled an hour and a half down to Le Center, MN for Red Pine Kennel Club's second UKC show weekend on July 2-3. We brought Millie down to finish her Championship - she needs just one last competition win. She showed so well (very proud of her!), but no competition win! She took Reserve Best Female under judge Gene Reynolds in show one. Here's a picture:
Next shows July 16-17!

Happy Birthday!
We held our second annual birthday party for our puppies on Saturday, June 18. Unfortunately, the weather was quite interesting and did not want to cooperate. The sky remained cloud-covered with little peaks of sunshine here and there. Soon after people started arriving it began to sprinkle - most of our back yard is covered by a huge tree so the light rain was still manageable. It soon began to pour, and we all headed inside to the kitchen - mud and all! Everyone was so good-spirited about the rain and all the puppies got along so well. We were so excited to see Knox, Hans, Pepper, and Jaeger from our Rosco x Millie litter (born June 19, 2009) and Remmie, Riley, and Ozzie from our Bubby x Millie litter (born June 8, 2010) - and of course their wonderful families who have done such a great job of raising them all! Millie, Halle, and Lundy had a blast with all the company, and Stone had a blast with everyone too (he thinks he's a German Shepherd...)
We took LOTS of pictures, including stacks of everyone! Check out the album on our Facebook page: 2nd Annual Puppy Birthday Party (2011)
Thank you for a great day, everyone! We absolutely love to see our puppies as they grow up.

First Post of 2011
...and it's already June?
Okay, I realize I haven't posted in a LONG time. Let me try to summarize our year so far.
Our first UKC shows were at the end of March, hosted by the UGSDA. We had a great time! We brought Millie out to show again - she enjoyed it very much. She took two Reserve Best Females on Saturday, and I was very proud of her for showing well all weekend. Here's a photo from the weekend (photo by Thomas Photography):

In April, we added a new addition! Our new family member is a black/tan male from Kerstone German Shepherds in Kansas. We love how this boy is growing up, and cannot wait to start showing with him! We are expecting big things from him.
Introducing... Kerstone White Whillow Special Agent AKA "Lundy" (pictured below at 12 weeks)
In May we attended the White German Shepherd Dog Club International National weekend in Burnsville, MN. We entered Halle, who took a Reserve Winners Bitch in one of the Saturday shows. We also tried out Rally Obedience run-throughs and Halle did very well.
Our next shows will be in July - I am also hoping to trial in rally in July!
